Privacy information

Hosting

The site is hosted on GitHub Pages, operated by GitHub, Inc. When you open a page, your browser sends technical data such as your IP address to GitHub’s servers, which GitHub may log for security and operation. See the GitHub Privacy Statement.

Visitor statistics

I use GoatCounter to see how many people visit this site, from which countries and regions, which sections they view and which links they follow. GoatCounter does not use cookies and does not track you across websites. For each page view and link click, it records:

Your IP address is not stored. To distinguish new visitors from repeat page views, GoatCounter briefly uses an anonymised identifier derived from the IP address and browser; it is not stored permanently and cannot be used to identify you. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). See GoatCounter’s GDPR information. You can block the statistics with any content blocker without affecting the site.

Stored on your device

If you switch between light and dark mode, your choice is saved in your browser’s local storage so the site remembers it. It never leaves your device.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify and erase your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, for example the Saxon Data Protection and Transparency Commissioner. To exercise these rights, please email me.
